Prepare for the Jump …
Prepare for the Jump …
Every passenger has jumped from the plane except you, the pilot and a millionaire. But there is one problem. There are only two parachutes. The millionaire offers you all his life savings amounting to a million dollars if you will just hand over your parachute. Deal, right? Of course not! What’s a million worth if you’re dead? Many want what this world has to offer while ignoring Jesus Christ. After-all, who wants to pick up their cross, deny themselves and follow after Him? What many don’t realize is that we too stand on a plane 6,000 feet in elevation and are about to make a leap into eternity, of which there is no return or second chances. Scripture warns that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom. “Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10) You may say, that leaves everyone out, and it most certainly does. Hence, the need for a
“parachute.” Because no amount of good works will defy gravity, that would be as silly as saying, “forget the parachute, I’ll flap my arms instead.” Jesus died so all who repent of their sins and put Him on as they would a parachute might be saved from the wrath to come. We have no idea when this plane is going down and our time here is up. Don’t gamble with your life and buy the devil’s lie that you have so much time. Look at the state of the world. Life offers no guarantees. This plane is going to crash, the warning lights are already flashing and you can hear the panicked cries of the passengers. Are you prepared for the leap into eternity?
